Anti-Racism Code

YSCL-Tennis Anti-Racism Code for Players & Team Officials

1. SCOPE AND APPLICATION:

The Young Stars Cricket League Management (“Management”) is responsible for the operation of the Young Stars Cricket League – Tennis Ball Cricket (“YSCL-Tennis”). This Anti-Racism Code for Players & Team Officials (the “Anti-Racism Code”) is adopted and implemented as a part of YSCL-Tennis to ensure that all participants, including Players and Team Officials, conduct themselves appropriately and avoid any actions that could be construed as racially or religiously offensive.

  • Any improper conduct of this nature will be addressed by the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee fairly and expediently.

2. CONDUCT OF PARTICIPANTS:

2.1 All Players and Team Officials are automatically bound by and required to comply with all provisions of the Anti-Racism Code.

2.2 Each participant agrees:
a) To take personal responsibility for understanding the Anti-Racism Code, including what conduct constitutes a violation.
b) To submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee to resolve charges under the Anti-Racism Code.
c) Not to initiate legal proceedings inconsistent with the Committee’s jurisdiction.
d) To recognize that prohibited conduct under the Anti-Racism Code may also violate other laws or regulations (e.g., anti-discrimination or equal opportunity laws). This Code is meant to complement such laws, not replace or undermine them.
e) To comply with all applicable laws and regulations at all times in addition to this Code.

3. OFFENCES:

3.1 The following conduct by any Player or Team Official during or related to a Match constitutes an offense under this Code:

  • Anti-Racism encompasses engaging in any behavior—whether through language, gestures or other actions—that is likely to insult, humiliate, intimidate, threaten, disparage, offend, or vilify any person (including Players, Team Officials, Umpires, Match Referees, spectators or any other individuals) based on their race, religion, culture, color, descent or national/ethnic origin.

4. SANCTIONS:

4.1 If the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee determines a violation of the Anti-Racism Code has occurred, they will impose an appropriate sanction.

4.2 Depending on the nature and seriousness of the offense, sanctions may include:

  • Suspension of the Player or Team Official for a specified term.
  • Termination of the Player’s or Team Official’s participation rights in YSCL-Tennis.

4.3 The decision of the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee shall be final and binding on all stakeholders.

5. AMENDMENT & INTERPRETATION:

5.1 The Anti-Racism Code may be amended periodically by the YSCL Management, with changes effective from the specified date.

5.2 Headings used in this Code are for guidance only and do not affect the substance or interpretation of the provisions.

5.3 If any provision of this Code is found invalid, unenforceable or illegal, the remainder of the Code shall remain in full force, with the invalid provision deemed deleted.

This Anti-Racism Code reflects YSCL-Tennis’s commitment to inclusivity and respect. All participants must uphold these values to foster a welcoming and equitable cricketing environment.
