Code of Conduct
1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION:
1.1 The Managing Committee of YSCL-Tennis has established this Code of Conduct to ensure the integrity of tennis-ball cricket, promote the sport, and safeguard the well-being of its members and participating players. This Code of Conduct is an integral part of YSCL-Tennis.
1.2 This Code of Conduct is issued and adopted by the Organization to uphold the spirit and rules of tennis-ball cricket. It applies to all participants in YSCL-Tennis, including players, parents, team officials, and umpires. Violations will be addressed by the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee promptly and fairly.
1.3 All matches shall be played in the true spirit of cricket, and all participants are urged to adhere to this Code.
1.4 Participants must not engage in conduct that goes against the principles of tennis-ball cricket, whether on or off the field.
1.5 All members, players, parents, and team officials commit to upholding the spirit of the game, respecting opponents, captains, umpires, and the traditional values of tennis-ball cricket.
1.6 The safety and security of players shall be prioritized at all times.
2. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PLAYERS:
2.1 All players, either through their parents or individually, are bound by and required to comply with this Code of Conduct.
2.2 Players and their parents acknowledge their responsibility to understand and comply with the provisions of the Code. They agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee for handling violations.
2.3 Players and their parents commit not to initiate any legal proceedings related to Code of Conduct violations.
3. CODE OF CONDUCT OFFENCES FOR PLAYERS:
3.1 Tennis-ball cricket is governed by both its rules and spirit. Violations of this spirit harm the game. Any player committing a prohibited act under this Code is deemed to have violated it. The Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee can initiate proceedings.
3.2 Players must not abuse cricket equipment, clothing, or ground facilities during coaching and matches.
3.3 Players must respect umpire decisions and avoid dissent or provocative behavior.
3.4 Players shall not use abusive, crude, or obscene language or gestures.
3.5 Players shall not engage in excessive appealing or swearing.
3.6 Players must avoid inappropriate and deliberate physical contact.
3.7 Players must not advance aggressively toward umpires while appealing.
3.8 Players shall avoid distractions or obstructions deliberately aimed at opponents.
3.9 Players must not throw objects inappropriately or dangerously.
3.10 Players must not use seriously obscene or insulting language or gestures.
3.11 Players must not alter the ball’s condition unfairly.
3.12 Players must not manipulate match outcomes for strategic purposes.
3.13 Players must not threaten or intimidate umpires or other participants.
3.14 Players must refrain from any violent or racially abusive behavior.
3.15 Players must be punctual, wear appropriate protective equipment, and adhere to dress codes.
3.16 Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited during matches or training.
4. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR UMPIRES:
4.1 Umpires must not make public comments detrimental to tennis-ball cricket or YSCL-Tennis.
4.2 Umpires must not disclose alleged breaches of the Code unless required by the Management Committee.
4.3 Umpires must avoid any conduct related to match-fixing or betting as outlined in Appendix A.
5. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/LEGAL GUARDIANS:
5.1 Parents must encourage fair play and compliance with the Code of Conduct.
5.2 Parents should discourage disputes and support sportsmanship.
5.3 Parents should acknowledge good performance beyond match results.
5.4 Parents must maintain respectful behavior and refrain from belittling children for mistakes.
5.5 Parents must prioritize children’s safety and well-being during participation.
6. CODE OF CONDUCT FOR COACHES/CAPTAINS/MANAGERS/TEAM OFFICIALS:
6.1 Captains and team officials must promote fair play and discourage time-wasting.
6.2 Coaches and managers must follow behavior and attire guidelines.
6.3 All team officials must prioritize the safety and security of players.
7. SANCTIONS:
7.1 The Management Committee/Disciplinary Committee will impose sanctions for violations, including suspension or termination of participation.
7.2 The severity of the offense will determine the sanction.
7.3 Decisions made by the Committee are final and binding.
8. AMENDMENT & INTERPRETATION:
8.1 This Code of Conduct may be amended by the Organization, with changes effective on the specified date.
8.2 Article headings are for guidance only and do not alter the substance of provisions.
8.3 Invalid provisions do not affect the validity of the entire Code.
APPENDIX A:
Participants of YSCL-Tennis, including players, parents, umpires, coaches, and team officials, are in breach of this Code if they engage in conduct such as:
- Betting on matches or events.
- Encouraging or inducing others to bet.
- Manipulating match results or occurrences.
- Failing to report approaches for prohibited conduct.
- Engaging in conduct prejudicial to tennis-ball cricket’s interests.
